Before your first booking, I'll come to your home for a complimentary Meet & Meow. It's a chance for us to meet, for me to make friends with your cat (on their terms, of course!), and for you to show me where everything is and talk me through their usual routine, personality and any particular care needs. It's also the perfect opportunity to ask questions and make sure you feel completely comfortable before leaving your cat in my care.
Not at all. Every cat is different, and I'll never force interaction with a cat who would rather keep their distance. My approach is calm and patient, giving your cat the time and space they need to become comfortable with me. If that means sitting quietly nearby while they observe me from their favourite hiding place for the first few visits, that's absolutely fine!
Every visit is tailored to your individual cat, but I'll generally take care of feeding and fresh water, litter trays and any cat-related tidying, alongside medication or additional care we've agreed. And then, of course, there's plenty of time for fuss, affection, play, lap time or simply some friendly company - whatever your cat enjoys! I'll also send you a check-in and photos, so you can see how they're getting on and enjoy your time away without wondering what's happening back at home.
Yes. I have experience administering medication, including insulin, and I'm happy to discuss your cat's individual requirements with you before booking. Please provide clear instructions and enough medication for the duration of your time away. If your cat has more complex medical needs, we'll discuss these beforehand to make sure I'm the right person to care for them safely and comfortably.
Your cat's wellbeing will always come first. I'll contact you straight away if I notice anything that concerns me and, if veterinary attention is needed, I'll follow the emergency arrangements we've agreed before you leave. I'll ask you to provide your usual vet's details, an emergency contact and your wishes regarding emergency veterinary treatment as part of the booking process, so we have a clear plan in place just in case.
Just let me know as soon as you can that your plans have changed. I can adjust the remaining visits. As the time has been reserved especially for your booking and may not be possible to offer to another client at short notice, unused visits after an early return are non-refundable. If I have availability, I'll be very happy to extend your cat's care and additional visits will simply be charged at my usual rate. If I'm unable to extend the booking, we'll work with the emergency arrangements you've provided to make sure your cat isn't left without care.
I can also help with a few other things...
I'm always happy to discuss small, reasonable things that help your home feel lived-in while you're away - for example, bringing in post, taking out the bins or opening and closing curtains - where these can easily be incorporated into your cat's visit.
Just mention anything you need during your Meet & Meow and we can agree what's possible beforehand.
