Lifelong cat lover & owner, forming feline friendships throughout Worthing, Angmering, Ferring, Littlehampton & beyond.
My family are most definitely cat people, and growing up there was always a feline member of the family!
First came Katie and then Henry, both beautiful black cats with adventurous spirits and very much part of my childhood.
As an adult, I went on to rescue several little souls of my own, including Hugo, Monty and Busy, who each brought so much joy to my life. Busy, especially, was by my side through some of the tougher times and seemed to have that wonderful instinct cats often do - always knowing when I needed a little extra comfort or companionship.
While living in Brighton, I spent many years volunteering with local cat charities, including Cats Protection, where I'd help clean the pens, care for the cats and, of course, spend plenty of time giving attention to those waiting for their new homes.
Since having my children, I haven't been able to give as much time to volunteering, but I continue to support the charities close to my heart - and still seem to find myself making friends with cats wherever I go!
Cats have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them has always come very naturally to me.
Calm Cat feels like a lovely way to bring that lifelong love together and give other cat owners the reassurance that, while they're away, someone who genuinely adores cats is looking after theirs.
Some of the feline friends I've cared for...
As well as running Calm Cat Sitting & Care here in Worthing, I have my own private practice as an accredited Transformational Hypnotherapist.
I find it incredibly fulfilling supporting people to make positive changes in their lives, and I think the calm, patient and empathetic nature I bring to my work translates rather well to cats too!
I've always believed they have an instinct for knowing when someone is safe and trustworthy, and I love taking the time to let each cat get to know me at their own pace.
I also used to be a professional photographer, and loved when people would bring their pets for a shoot - it was always such fun and so rewarding to see people's faces when they saw how I'd captured their fur babies!
And, I'm a mum to two school-age children, who certainly keep me on my toes and, from time to time, may make an appearance as very enthusiastic assistant cat sitters!
For a little extra peace of mind, I'm:
DBS checked
Fully insured
Experienced in administering medication, including insulin
Currently completing pet first aid training
So whether your cat simply needs food, fuss and a comfy lap while you're away, or has a few additional care needs, you can relax knowing they'll be looked after with patience, attention and lots of affection.
